To us, the mohawk represents the outlier – the person who is not afraid to go against the grain, rise up for what they believe in, and above all, stand tall in the face of adversity. Veterans, First Responders and those who support them embody the mohawk. When you get a mohawk in support of veteran and first responder suicide prevention, you become a part of a movement that is greater than oneself.
22Mohawks is proud to provide assistance to veterans and first responders who need help with navigating the struggles of everyday life.
Be it physical, mental, or financial support, we strive to do everything in our power to improve the lives of veterans and first responders while combating PTS and raising awareness for the prevalence of suicide among our former service members and first responders.
We are humbled and grateful to have your support. Thank you for being part of the solution and joining the 22Mohawks Family.
Our slogan, “we will do this together!”, is embodied by our simple yet powerful values.
Carry on despite the feeling of overwhelming pain or fear. Acknowledge when you are feeling this way by saying it out loud. Owning the emotion will not allow it to drive your decisions. We will hold this courage together.
Allowing yourself to accept support during painful moments is critical to your mental health. We will be your connection through shared experiences from those who understand.
You must have conviction to persevere. Believing that you will weather the storm is just as important as doing it each day. We are your sounding board for conviction and strength.

Stacey is also the founder of Mind Body Image, a company providing both individual and corporate wellness programs to bring mental, physical and emotional education together for her clients.
In 2009, Stacey lost her father to Veteran Suicide. Knowing first hand the pain and trauma that comes along with losing someone to suicide she aims to provide awareness, support and love to all of those in need.
She is truly an uplifting visionary who has also overcome many years of trauma and although she holds many titles, her driving force and most valuable title is being a mother to her 13 year old daughter.
Dave joined the Army in 2001 and served in various light infantry units until his separation in 2016. In 2009, he passed Ranger School and was deployed with the Golden Dragons 2/14In, 10th Mountain Division to Iraq. After his honorable discharge in 2016, he attended Suffolk University in Boston where he majored in Finance and now serves as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual and a financial planning team based in Wellesley, Ma.
After his separation from the Army, David began to notice that more and more service members were taking their own lives and felt compelled to start the non-profit, 22Mohawks. The main goal of 22Mohawks is to bring awareness to veteran suicide. They sponsor multiple events each year that bring veterans and their families together. Their mission is to create and keep the bond between veterans so that everyone knows that they have someone with similar experiences they can lean on. A big part of that bond and connection is lost after separation from the military and believing fully in their mission to reinforce and maintain that sense of community.

Ayman Kafel is an Army Veteran who was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. He became a police officer in 2007 after 8 years of service in the Army.
Ayman has witnessed war from his first days on earth. Born in Liberia during the Liberian civil war, Ayman and his family were forced to move back to their native Lebanon. Then at the age of 7 the Lebanese civil war brought his family to seek a more peaceful life in America. Ayman has always felt a deep and abiding love for the United States. When we were attacked on 9/11 he immediately enlisted in the Army. “Our family felt that those evils we had escaped, followed us here.”
Aymans experience in both the military and law enforcement led him to join forces with 22Mohawks in November 2021 as the Director of Networking. With Ayman already having an active part in bringing awareness to veteran and first responder suicide it was a perfect fit.
When Ayman is not keeping the streets safe and advocating for suicide awareness you’ll find him in his home gym destroying the weight game, talking all things military / law enforcement on his Project Sepient Podcast or writing articles for Havok Journal.
